This project entailed the remodelling and extension of an existing period home over of around 2,300 sq ft. The incoming purchaser approached us through recommendation for ideas to transform their house to the highest level, both inside and out.  The existing accommodation had been added to piecemeal and the interior rooms were relatively small and connected by dark corridors. Principally though, none of these spaces enjoyed a good relationship with the gardens that surrounded the house and as a result these were little used.  Our design evolved with the client to create a large basement across the whole of the building, accommodating a dance studio, photographers’ dark room, a wet-room, games room and gallery. At ground floor level, previous extensions were removed and a large open-plan kitchen and family lounge space was designed in a sleek, glazed extension to the rear. A complete transformation to the existing arrangement, this new extension fills the house with sunlight and opens up along its entire length to the newly landscaped garden.  We were involved from concept through to planning approvals, detailed design and on to site. *NOW COMPLETED - photos coming soon*
