ETHOS

'beautiful buildings, beautifully delivered'

We draw and draw and draw to distill a simple, essential and elegant response to each brief. We balance an artistic, imaginative response with the practicalities of cost, technology, regulation, environment and ergonomics. Through the discipline of precisely crafted detailing we pursue an authentic individual expression for each unique project in built form. Why..? Because of the knowledge that beautiful buildings hold great value both culturally and financially and can simply inspire.

Push and pull, compress and release, excite and calm, our buildings are designed with, not against, their nature and engage a dynamic sensory relationship with their inhabitants.

We are our own harshest critic and judge our designs against the best in the world.

PROCESS

Experience has taught us that there is much more to a successful building than an enthralling concept. To turn the idea into reality requires knowledge, maturity, and skill. Our efforts are addressed as much on the design as they are on how to deliver the finished product with flair.

PRACTICE

McBriar Architecture started out in 2003 and was incorporated as a limited company in 2008. Our work has concentrated mainly on the residential sector, although our extensive previous experience has also equipped us to operate in cultural, retail and workplace projects.

As a business we are growing steadily based on the successes of each job, with an expanding portfolio of high quality work both of our own self build (or 'custom build') projects and of those we do for our clients.  It's great to be able to say that a number of our latest enquiries are repeat custom and all but one have come by way of recommendation.
